Best Time To Travel TO NASHVILLE
There is really no bad time to visit Nashville. If you would like to enjoy Nashville to its fullest, then I would suggest visiting sometime between April to October. You will have warmer temps so you can experience rooftop bars, outdoor activities, parks, etc. We went in April and the weather was very enjoyable (12-28° Celsius).
Where To Stay In Nashville
- Best Western PLUS Downtown/Music Row – This is where we stayed. The hotel was perfect for our short stay. The rooms were very spacious and the breakfast was excellent. It is a short walk to The Gulch and a quick Uber drive to Broadway!
- Graduate Nashville – A unique and girly hotel that is Dolly Parton themed! I almost chose this hotel, but I didn’t think Lucas would enjoy all the pink lol. Breakfast was not included in the price and it was a little bit farther away from Broadway.
- Near Broadway: Hyatt Place Nashville Downtown, Hyatt Centric Downtown Nashville, Renaissance Nashville Hotel

What To Do in Nashville
1. Grand Ole Opry
No trip to Nashville is complete without heading to the Grand Ole Opry for a show! We went to the “Country Classic” show and the performances were fantastic. Throughout the night, they will perform country, bluegrass, and gospel music!
2. Ryman Auditorium
The former home of the Grand Ole Opry! You can do a tour of this music hall or check out a show. We went to see Breland’s Annual “Breland & Friends” Benefit concert on April 4th and had so much fun. So, if you’re in Nashville around the start of April when he has this Benefit, buy tickets! It was such an amazing concert. If not, then there are shows all week at the Ryman.
3. Country Music Hall Of Fame
The Country Music Hall Of Fame can be a hit or miss. I honestly didn’t love it and I don’t think it was worth the price. It was mainly country singers’ iconic outfits, guitars, awards, etc. I still wanted to add this because I know some people may really enjoy checking out the Country Music Hall Of Fame. It is a large building that has tons of cool facts and information on all the famous country singers you can think of!
4. Johnny Cash Museum
Learn all about the legendary life of Johnny Cash. Despite its small size, there is so much to see and learn about the man in black.
5. Centennial Park/Parthenon Museum
Take a stroll through the stunning Centennial Park and then check out the Parthenon Museum. I am heading to Athens, Greece this summer, so it was cool to see the full-size, original replica of the Parthenon.
6. Bluebird Cafe
Another iconic location in Nashville is Bluebird Cafe. It is a small and intimate cafe where songwriters perform. Although it is a little out of the way (20 minutes from Broadway), it is definitely worth adding to your Nashville itinerary. Tickets are extremely hard to get. Priscilla Block was performing the night we wanted to go. I was on the website to purchase tickets the moment they became available, but my computer was slow to load onto the page and we weren’t able to get tickets! The tickets sold out in ONE MINUTE. I couldn’t believe it!!! I’ve heard most shows sell out within minutes, so be fast and good luck lol.
7. Broadway
Of course, the main tourist attraction in Nashville is Broadway! Broadway Street is the best place to be for music, day or night. We bar-hopped for 3 days and our favorites were Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk, Jason Aldean’s Kitchen & Rooftop Bar, FGL House, Whiskey River Saloon, and Lucky Bastard Saloon. I personally wasn’t a fan of the smaller bars because they were crowded and extremely hard to find seating.
8. The GUlch
Spend a morning shopping at the Gulch. My favorite stores were Blush and Kittenish. The Gulch is also known to have some pretty cool murals, especially the wing mural. You may have to wait in line depending on what time you get there.
9. Whiskey Jam
If you’re ever in Nashville on a Monday or Thursday, check out Whiskey Jam. They have live music with bands singing their own songs. We went on a Monday night and it was full!
10. John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge
Just a short walk away from Broadway is John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. Head here for amazing views of the city.
11. Hop on Hop off Bus Tour
If you are looking to venture off from Broadway and explore other parts of Nashville, try the Hop-on Hop-off bus tour. Some stops include Centennial Park (Parthenon Museum), The Gulch, Farmers Market, Country Music Hall of Fame, and more! I was pleasantly surprised with this bus tour and learned quite a bit.
Group Activities in Nashville (great for Bachelorettes)
12. Tractor Tour
13. Line Dancing Class
14. Nashville Pedal Tavern
