How Many days in Milos
I would recommend 3-5 days in Milos. I spent three days exploring Milos and it was the perfect amount for us. We explored and checked off every place we planned. Of course, if you want a more relaxed itinerary, I would add a few more days.
How To Get To Milos
Ferry
The ferries are well connected to many other islands and the mainland, Athens. You will arrive/depart from Adamantas Port. I booked our tickets on ferryhopper.com. Download the app so you can track where the ferry is!
Airport
Milos has a small airport that only has domestic flights to and from Athens, Greece. I would suggest only showing up 45 minutes before your flight as things move pretty quickly with one flight leaving at a time. Bring a portable fan if you are there mid-summer because they have no a/c and it was pretty unbearable.
Getting Around Milos
The best way to get around Milos is by renting a car or ATV. Taxis are rare and extremely expensive. The bus is a cheap option, but you are limited with places and you won’t have the flexibility to explore on your own time.
Where To Stay in Milos
The three main towns I recommend staying in are Adamantas, Pollonia, and Plaka.
Adamantas is where the ferry port is located and is the main town with lots of restaurants and accommodations. This is where we stayed and we loved the walkability of this charming town. We stayed at Aqua’s Sunshine, a small one-bedroom apartment with a cute patio. The location was perfect and the place had everything we needed.
Pollonia would be my second choice. It has a beach and many popular restaurants making it the perfect town to stay in Milos.
Plaka is a small but amazing place to stay in Milos. They have lots of restaurants and shops. It is also a short walk to Plaka Castle which has the best sunset views of Milos.
Where To Eat In Milos
- Medusa – delicious fresh seafood and Greek dishes (Mandrakia)
- Muses – quiet location next to the beach with fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes
- Lydia (Adamantas)
- O! Hamos! Tavern (Adamantas)
- Gyros Of Milos – affordable option and has the best Gyros (Adamantas)
- Yankos (Adamantas)
- Phatses – live music at night (Plaka)
- Utopia Caffe – great spot to watch the sunset and have a cocktail (Plaka)
- Glaronisia (Trypiti)
What To Do In Milos
Rent A Boat
The best way to see Milos is by boat! Explore the caves and coast of this charming island. Some of the top places to see are Kleftiko, Sikia Cave, Tsigrado Beach, and Kalomos Beach. My husband has experience sailing boats, so we rented a private boat with no captain through BednBlue for 4 hours. If you don’t feel comfortable driving a boat, book with a captain or you can book a boat tour on Get Your Guide.
Plaka Castle
Head to Plaka Castle for amazing views overlooking the island. This is also the best spot on Milos to watch the sunset!

Best Beaches To Visit in Milos
Papikinou
This beach is near Adamantas village and the airport. It’s not the nicest beach as it is right by the road, but the shallow calm waters and closeness to restaurants make up for it. It’s also a great beach to go to if it’s a windy day because of its inward and sheltered location.
Plathiena
My favourite beach in Milos is Plathiena! It’s extremely picturesque and also wheelchair friendly. You can pay for sun beds or you can go to the right of the beach and lay on your towel.
Sarakiniko
The actual beach section is extremely small, but Sarakiniko is mainly known for its moonlike atmosphere and cliff jumping. We came here twice because I loved it so much. Straight off the beach are some cool tunnels you can explore. Arrive early in the morning for fewer people.
Pollonia
A cute village with a great beach! It was a windy day so we didn’t stay here long but it’s another beautiful and wheelchair-friendly beach.
Kalamos
This beach is only accessible by boat, but it shouldn’t be missed! I can’t recommend a boat tour enough. You get to see the beautiful waters and hidden gems of Milos. The white cliffs and white sandy beach make Kalamos a stunning spot to anchor your boat to swim and relax.
Tsigrado
This beach is difficult to access by land as you have to climb down a cliff and ladder. If you rent a boat, stop here, anchor, swim up to the beach and check out the cave. Such a cool beach to explore on Milos!
Fyriplaka
Fyriplaka is a long stretch of sandy beach with crystal-clear water. You can even rent kayaks! I loved spending the afternoon here.
