How has it been over 2 months since I married my best friend?! It’s been a surreal few months and I’ve taken some time to reflect on our special day. I thought it would be nice to do a wedding Q&A to fill you in on some details of our day!

How did you pick your colors and theme?
For our wedding, I knew I wanted a romantic and classy look. While searching on Pinterest, I would always lean towards mauve bridesmaid dresses and black suits for the men. It just looks so classic and beautiful! I knew it would go well with our venue which was very elegant and modern.
What was your favorite part of your wedding? What was Lucas’s?
My favorite part of the wedding was the ceremony. It was such an overwhelming but amazing moment in Lucas’s and my life that I will never forget. I have never been so happy in my life than at that moment.
I also loved the entire afternoon. We rented a party bus to take us, the bridal party, and their girlfriend/boyfriends around to wherever we were taking pictures. The music was blasted and we danced pretty much the entire time. We would go take pictures, go straight back on the bus, and continue to dance while we were taken to our next destination. Definitely got a little sweaty but it was SO MUCH FUN!
Lucas’s favorite part was the afternoon when we were on the party bus and, of course, he really enjoyed the dance. He is all about the fun lol.
Is there anything you wish you did differently?
I really wish the girls and I started getting ready earlier or had another person around to do hair and makeup so we could have finished earlier and have more time for pictures. I remember rushing and going from hair to makeup. Meanwhile, I was stuffing half a sandwich in between because it was lunchtime and my only time to eat dinner. By the time I got my dress on, it was pretty much time to leave. We still had to do the first look with everybody, gifts from parents to me, and then vice versa, etc. We were very late for the ceremony and I felt SO bad. It was an outdoor wedding and very sunny and hot out. I couldn’t stop thinking about everyone sitting out there in the heat!!
Highs and lows of the day?
High: Feeling all the love from all of our family and friends. It was such a fun and happy day.
Low: Being late for the ceremony and reception.. lol. Oops. I really care what people think and feel, so I did not enjoy being late and making people wait.
What was the hardest part about planning your wedding?
The guest list. Thanks to Covid, we were only allowed to invite 100 people. Both of our parents have LARGE families and Lucas has so many friends. It was hard cutting out cousins, friends, and boyfriends/girlfriends. There were many times when I thought it would be much easier to have a wedding with just immediate family and our bridal party. I am very thankful we had the wedding we did though.
How to budget?
We just chose what was most important for us and then went from there. For us, a good photographer was at the top of our list. You have these pictures forever and you want them to be perfect.
I can’t believe all the wedding planning is over and I am a wife but I am SO loving married life! I hope you enjoyed my wedding Q&A.
